Recipe: Steak noodle bowl (kid friendly)

It is very fitting for me to share this recipe this week. Our May seems to be jam-packed with events, and this week, this very specific week, is the busiest. Both Josh and I have volunteer obligations for major events that happen this weekend (luckily not at the same time) as well as Josh's step-sisters high school graduation.  Surprisingly, we will fit it all in.

The kids have two baseball team practices, a baseball game, dance, softball, a softball scrimmage, soccer practice and a soccer game. And to top it all off, I am single parenting it this week, Josh is out of town for work.

Needless to say, I needed something very quick, easy and healthy for supper and this was just the dish to prepare.

NOTE: This is one way to get your kids to eat broccoli! Deliciousness in a bowl!

I love sharing quick and easy recipes.  I found this recipe in a Kraft Family magazine and have tweaked it. This recipe is so easy, and only takes 30 minutes.

Ingredients:
Olive Oil
1 Top of Sirloin Steak (sliced into strips)
1 Head broccoli
Pasta of choice (I always use linguini for this dish)
1/4 Cup Kraft Light Asian Toasted Sesame dressing
2 Tbsp. Teriyaki sauce

Heat Olive Oil in pan on high. Cut your meat into strips and add all of your meat to the hot pan. Cook meat thoroughly, drain juices if needed.

While meat is cooking, in a separate pot, boil water. Add linguini and boil for 8 minutes or according to pasta package for perfect al dente pasta.

After draining the meat pan, add 1/4 Cup Toasted Sesame dressing and 2 Tbsp Teriyaki to pan with the meat. Keep on high for about 2 minutes then let cool, sauce will get thicker as it cools. I usually add more Toasted Sesame dressing and Teriyaki so you will have a lot of sauce to pour over your pasta.

Add broccoli to your boiling pasta during the last 2 minutes. Drain pasta and broccoli.

Put the pasta and broccoli in a bowl and spoon the delicious steak and sauce on top.

VoilĂ , you have a great Steak and Noodle bowl.

I will post pictures of the Preakness event, that I am volunteering as the Decorations Chair for, early next week, along with some great decorating ideas including a curtain project and Sidney's room reveal. Stay tuned!

What are some quick, easy and healthy recipes you make in a hurry?  Do your kids eat it?
