Simple 4th of July appetizer: Homemade bruchetta

If you don't already know this about me, I LOVE the 4th of July. Have you seen our family photo ? #redwhiteandblue Since this holiday, like any holiday, creeps up on us, I thought I would share a simple recipe that we eat weekly in the summer. It's especially delicious when you can get tomatoes right off the vine from your garden. Ingredients: 2 medium tomatoes (preferably home grown) 4 basil leaves 3 Tbls. olive oil 1 1/2 tbls. balsamic vinegar (or more to your liking) Pinch of Minced Garlic (or fresh garlic if you have it) 1 large french bread loaf Preheat oven to 350. Slice bread into desired thickness (I like them thin). Toast in oven for about 5 minutes, or until desired toasty-ness (I know it's not a word). Dice tomatoes and put in a bowl. Its easiest to cut the tomatoes with a serrated knife. Chop basil leaves and stir in with tomatoes. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then sprinkle minced garlic.
